How Competent Are You as a Laboratory Leader?

Track: Leadership & Laboratory Management

Session Number: 104
Date: Mon, Apr 1st, 2019
Time: 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Room: Grapevine 3-4

Description:

This session is designed to be presented near the beginning of KL 19 breakout sessions. It is an expanded version of the session given last year, which will focus on CLMA’s Body of Knowledge (BOK), version 3.

It can be challenging to identify one’s personal strengths and limitations regarding their leadership knowledge, skills and attributes. The CLMA Body of Knowledge (BOK) was created to fill this need. During this highly interactive session, participants will critique their current competency in a variety of leadership categories by using the BOK self-assessment tool. This is a safe and confidential way for leaders to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses, without involving their employers. Participants can then use the information acquired to prioritize which KL sessions will provide them the best opportunities for their professional development.
