Description:

Proficiency Testing (PT) has been a regular part of laboratory compliance since CLIA laws were passed in 1988. But as labs have evolved, and especially as groups of labs have formed health systems and networks, PT compliance must be reassessed. This session will:

  • Highlight differences in proficiency testing practices in laboratory networks
  • Discuss possible pitfalls and strategies to reduce risk
  • Examine regulatory changes and ways to adapt to them at the network level

Examples of procedure development, methodologies and tools will also be reviewed.
