Also included are those critical managerial skills needed to run an efficient and profitable laboratory such as understanding lab finances, budgeting, contract negotiations, and strategic planning.
New Technology & Trends
This track features sessions designed to keep attendees informed on rapid changes in laboratory testing and evolving platforms such as Molecular and Genetic testing, micro-automation, markers for new medications, and innovative approaches to current processes such as improved specimen collection.
Sessions in this track highlight the basics on how to complete a risk assessment of your laboratory, develop a solid quality management plan, and utilize project management tips for keeping track of and reporting non-conforming events. This track helps leaders build a just culture to improve reporting as well as provide a greater understanding of Six Sigma, IQCP and the new regulatory requirements for quality control.
Whether it is changes in billing and coding, reimbursement, CLIA, or HIPPA sessions in this track focus on “the next big thing” in government regulations that either directly or indirectly affect the laboratory, as well as information on the laboratory workforce shortage, ISO 15189, and compliance issues.
