The Volunteer Chapter of CLMA is pleased to announce the newest members of our board! After an uncontested election, your new chapter leaders are:
President-elect- Beth Kammer. Beth is a medical technologist with 19 years of experience in laboratory medicine. She began her career at Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she advanced from a bench technologist, supervisor and manager to operations director of anatomic pathology. She also served as the Director of Laboratory Services at University Medical Center located in Lebanon, Tennessee. Her current position of Laboratory Administrator is with DCI Laboratory, a division of Dialysis Clinic Inc., which provides laboratory testing to the ESRD / Dialysis community. Ms. Kammer holds a B.S Degree in Biological Sciences from Lee University and is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s medical technology program. Additionally, she obtained her MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologist Board of Registry and the Clinical Laboratory Management Association.
Chapter director - Candis Kinkus. Candis has been the Administrative Director for the Diagnostic Laboratories at Vanderbilt University Medical Center since November 2009. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and has worked at several academic medical centers including Atlantic Health System in New Jersey and both the UPMC Health System and the Allegheny Health System in Pennsylvania. Candis has been a member of the CLMA since 1987 and served on the Board of Directors for the Philadelphia chapter and the New Jersey chapter. In 2009, her team’s poster presentation, “Quality Enhancements for Cervical Cancer Screening: Practical Application of the Five Key Quality System Components” was awarded second place at the Clinical Laboratory Management Association ThinkLab’09 conference. She was also a speaker at the annual spring seminar of the NJ Society of Medical Technology on the topic of “Lab Opportunity: Hospital Labs and Physician Office Practices”. In addition to several articles published in Medical Laboratory Observer, she is the author of a book, “Laboratory Management: Quality in Laboratory Diagnosis”, one of a series of six textbooks addressing the topic of diagnostic standards of care.
Chapter director - Todd Norris. Todd was born and raised in Traverse City, Michigan. He attended Lake Superior State University, completing a BS in Biology and Medical Technology. He completed the medical technology internship at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan and went on to work there for two years. Todd relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee and was employed by Erlanger Medical Center for the next fifteen years. In 2009, Todd was hired by Nephrology Associates in Chattanooga to start up their laboratory. He has served as their laboratory manager since that time. Todd has been a member of the CLMA since 2010.
