Mary Jo has been in clinical laboratory management for 30 years. In 1986 Mary Jo was on the management team that consolidated clinical laboratory services for the two hospital laboratories and the pathologist owned independent laboratory in Dubuque, Iowa. The new organization just celebrated their 25th anniversary and has become a model for others looking at consolidating laboratory services.

Mary Jo has been an active CLMA member since 1983 and has been active at the state, regional and national level. Mary Jo was President of the CLMA PAC Board of Directors from its inception. She serves has the Iowa Chapter's Advocacy Representative and has often participated in the ASCLS/CLMA/ASCP/AMT Legislative Symposium. In 2007 Mary Jo testified on CLMA's behalf at the House of Representatives Small Business Committee Hearing on Competitive Bidding. Mary Jo is currently serving her first term on the national CLMA Board of Directors.
