youngLAB

youngLABHopefully you have heard about CLMA’s newest group called youngLAB through your Chapter or at ThinkLab ’09 in Tampa. And hopefully it has piqued your interest wondering “What is this group all about?” Let us give you the history on the birth of youngLAB and why it is so important to the future of laboratory leadership. Through the inspiration and support from our past President, JoAnne Milbourn and past Membership and Chapter Development Chair Carla Orner, an idea became reality when the youngLAB Task Force was created to address the needs of emerging leaders. Why do we need to focus on this group? To many of us, this is a “no brainer.” CLMA developed youngLAB as a networking opportunity for its younger generation of members. The current membership of the Task Force spearheading the charge range in geographical locations, educational background, and career levels within the Clinical Laboratory field. The current Task Force is comprised of Sarina Rodriques and Kevin O’Connell serving as Co-Chairs, Juliane Breh, Humbelina Harper, Holly Hunter, Kathy Inglis, Dave Gingrich, Jennifer McMahon, Suzy Ghazarossian, Renee Cuevas, and Jeremy Greenwood. Each of the volunteers brings a different “young” outlook to the group. Read more
